So I was bored at work and became a little vain and decided to check out how my script is doing on the web. I know, how selfish of me.
Well, I discovered that there was a small IMDB post about my script a little over a month ago, that I discovered on some board search thing through Google. Anyway, some people didn't care for it. You can read little bits of their comments at the link below.http://boardreader.com/t/New_Moon_2009/Wonderful_fanmade_New_Moon_script_by_Gan_ui8zX24m3xh.html?o=10
One of the people said they were changing the name on the front of the title page to Melissa Rosenberg, sending it to their boyfriend, and telling him she won't be seeing it cause it's so bad. Whatever floats your boat, I say.
Most of their complaints I understand, and not everyone is going to be a fan. I did what I could to try and "show" rather than "tell" and people never get how a script works; you can't have every single thing that happens in the book in the movie, and things need to be changed and rearranged. My script can feel rushed, but I did my best to include all events that pertain to Eclipse and even Breaking Dawn (a la Irina's feelings for Laurent), because things wouldn't make sense later on, unless you interlace everything. Some things definitely can be taken out, but I WOULD LOVE to see the peoples reactions once they read the real script.
I wish I could access the post for it, but IMDB won't let. I would love to respond, very professionally of course, to some of the people and their opinions. I do love people who contradict my work. It's quite fun.
I would also like to speak to the girl who started the post, but IMDB is made of FAIL altogether. :P
I don't want any of you to think I am mad or upset at these people. Most of the time, it's amusing and people are entitled to their opinions. And IMDB is hardly the source for constructive criticism.
